Standing On Truth
The Christian life is not only a journey — it is also a battle.
Ephesians 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Paul reminds believers that spiritual opposition is real. Temptation, deception, discouragement, and compromise are not accidents. They are part of an ongoing spiritual conflict.
But God has not left His people defenseless.
He has provided armor.
Truth protects the mind.
Righteousness guards the heart.
Faith extinguishes fiery darts.
The Word of God serves as a sword against deception.
Yet the goal of the armor is simple: “that ye may be able to withstand.”
The word withstand means to resist pressure without collapsing.
There will be moments when the world pushes hard against your convictions. Cultural opinions will shift. Moral standards will blur. Biblical truth may be criticized or misunderstood.
In those moments, believers are not called to retreat.
They are called to stand.
Standing firm requires preparation. It requires grounding your mind in Scripture so that when false ideas appear, you recognize them immediately.
It requires prayer so that your strength comes from God rather than your own resolve.
And it requires courage — the willingness to remain faithful even when standing is unpopular.
Notice the final phrase: “having done all, to stand.”
Sometimes victory does not look dramatic. It looks like quiet faithfulness.
Resisting temptation.
Holding to truth.
Continuing in obedience.
In a world that constantly shifts, standing firm is powerful testimony.
The believer who stands on the truth of God’s Word will not be easily shaken.
