Finding Peace In Anxiety

In the midst of life's uncertainties we can find peace when we trust and rest in the arms of God.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The world offers many forms of peace.

Circumstantial peace — when everything is going well.
Emotional peace — when stress is low.
Temporary peace — when distractions keep us occupied.

But all of these are fragile.

They depend on conditions that can change quickly.

Jesus offers something different.

“My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth.”

The peace Christ gives is not tied to circumstances. It is rooted in His presence.

That is why He could speak these words to His disciples on the night before the crucifixion.

Their circumstances were about to become more difficult than ever.

Yet Jesus still said, “Let not your heart be troubled.”

This kind of peace does not come from avoiding problems.

It comes from trusting the One who remains in control even in the middle of them.

Peace is not found in understanding everything.

It is found in trusting God despite not understanding everything.

Philippians 4:7 describes it as “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding.”

It does not always make sense.

But it steadies the heart.

When anxiety rises, peace is not found by trying to control every outcome. It is found by surrendering those outcomes to God.

The heart becomes troubled when it carries burdens it was never meant to carry alone.

Christ invites us to rest in Him.
