We often underestimate small beginnings.

We want visible results.
Immediate progress.
Clear evidence that something is working.

But God frequently starts small.

A conversation.
A step of obedience.
A quiet decision.

In Zechariah’s time, the people were discouraged because the rebuilding of the temple seemed unimpressive compared to what once stood.

It did not look significant.

It did not feel powerful.

But God challenged their perspective:

“Who hath despised the day of small things?”

Small does not mean unimportant.

Small often means foundational.

Large growth is built on small beginnings repeated over time.

Faithfulness in the unseen prepares for impact in the visible.

The danger is not small beginnings.

The danger is despising them.

When we overlook small steps, we become impatient. We rush the process. We miss what God is forming.

But God is not in a hurry.

Every strong structure begins with something small.

And every life of impact begins with simple obedience.

Do not overlook what God is starting no matter how small.
