From Coward To Bold

The same Peter who once denied Jesus stood before thousands of people in Jerusalem. Only weeks earlier he had been afraid to admit knowing Christ. Now he boldly proclaimed the truth about the crucified and risen Savior. What changed? The resurrection had restored him. The Holy Spirit had empowered him.

Acts 2:36-38
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus… both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart…

Peter’s message was direct and clear.

Jesus had been crucified.
Jesus had risen from the dead.
Jesus was both Lord and Christ.

When the crowd heard this, Scripture says they were “pricked in their heart.”

The gospel does that.

It confronts sin.
It reveals truth.
It invites repentance.

And that day about three thousand people believed.

The church was no longer just a small group in an upper room.

The message of the risen Christ had begun spreading through the world.

The power of the gospel has not changed.

The same message that transformed hearts in Jerusalem still transforms hearts today.

By the power of God, Peter who once acted the coward and denied Jesus, was boldly proclaiming the Gospel. No matter how we may have been afraid before, or how much of a coward we may have been; we can through the power of the One within us, boldly proclaim the life-changing news of the Gospel.

It is the most important message we can share, and we should cast aside our fears, nerves, and cowardice, we should lay our lives before God to use to spread the glorious truth of the Gospel.
