Established - Built to Last

Part 3 in the devotional series on spiritual growth.

Colossians 2:6-7
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith…

Growth is not just about starting well—it is about lasting.

Paul uses two images: a tree and a building.

“Rooted… built up… stablished.”

Roots speak of connection.
Building speaks of structure.
Establishment speaks of stability.

Many believers begin with enthusiasm but struggle with consistency.

Emotions fluctuate. Circumstances change. Motivation rises and falls.

But spiritual growth must move beyond feeling into foundation.

Paul says, “As ye have… received Christ… so walk ye in him.”

The same dependence that saved you must sustain you.

You do not outgrow reliance on Christ.

You deepen it.

Establishment happens through repetition.

Daily time in the Word.
Consistent prayer.
Continual obedience.

Not dramatic moments—but steady habits.

Storms do not destroy well-built structures… They reveal the weak ones.

If your faith feels unstable, the answer is not more activity—it is a stronger foundation.

Build slowly.
Build deeply.
Build consistently.

What is established in Christ will last.
