Before Cain committed sin, God spoke.

That moment is often overlooked.

God warned him.

He addressed his anger.
He revealed the danger.
He gave him a choice.

“Sin lieth at the door.”

The image is powerful.

Sin was not inside yet.

It was waiting.

Conviction works the same way.

It comes before action.

It exposes what is forming.
It reveals what is coming.
It gives opportunity to respond.

But Cain ignored it.

And what was once outside the door soon became action.

This is why conviction is so important.

God speaks before sin takes a strong hold.

But if ignored, conviction becomes quieter.

The longer it is resisted, the easier it is to dismiss.

Responding early matters.

Dealing with sin at the level of conviction prevents consequences at the level of action.
