When God Closes A Door

Sometimes it can be confusing when God closes doors in our path.

Acts 16:6-7
“…they were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia… And they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

Paul was trying to do something good.

He was preaching the gospel.

Yet twice, God stopped him.

That can feel confusing.

We often expect God to block wrong paths—but here, He blocked a good one.

Paul’s intentions were right.

But God’s direction was different.

Closed doors are not always correction.

Sometimes they are redirection.

After these doors were shut, Paul received a vision of a man in Macedonia calling for help.

This led to the gospel spreading into Europe.

What looked like delay was actually direction.

What felt like restriction was actually expansion.

God sees what we cannot.

We make decisions based on what is in front of us.

God directs based on what is ahead.

Closed doors can feel frustrating.

Plans change. Opportunities disappear. Paths shift unexpectedly.

But those moments require trust.

God does not guide by accident.

If He closes something, it is because He is leading somewhere else.

Instead of asking, “Why was this blocked?”

Ask, “Where is God leading now?”
