When You Feel Spiritually Dry

Lord, I confess my dryness. Stir my thirst for You again. Pour out fresh strength, fresh hunger, and fresh joy.

Isaiah 44:3
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.

There are seasons when faith feels vibrant.

And there are seasons when it feels dry.

Prayer seems mechanical.
Worship feels distant.
Scripture feels heavy.

But dryness is not death.

Notice the promise:
“I will pour water upon him that is thirsty…”

He pours on the thirsty: Dry seasons often create deeper desire.

The ground must crack before it absorbs rain deeply.
The heart must hunger before it treasures revival.

If you feel dry today, do not condemn yourself.
Ask yourself: Am I thirsty?

Thirst is evidence of life.

God never ignores hunger for Him.
He never despises a desperate heart.

The same God who sends drought can send floods.

And sometimes He allows dryness so we will stop depending on yesterday’s rain, and turn to him again with a thirsty heart for the things of the Lord.

Cry out.
Return to the Word.
Stay planted.

The rain is coming.
